Jamie Banks

Jamie Banks is a PhD student in Classics at the CUNY Graduate Center who has been teaching languages, literature, science and math to neurodivergent students and those with learning differences for 10 years, ranging from middle school to college settings. He has his BA and MS from Harvard in Mathematics and an MSEd in Adolescent Special Education, for which he is also a grade 7-12 classroom teacher certified by New York State. While Jamie has worked with a variety of language learning methods and curricula, he most enjoys teaching languages–Latin, Greek, German and Spanish–via storytelling and individual students’ areas of interest. Whatever subject he is tutoring, Jamie centers “learning how to learn” and students gaining knowledge of themselves as learners that will carry over to other endeavors.
